What's the difference between day trading Emini Futures and Forex?
We thoroughly investigated Forex, spent months testing it, and concluded that it had problems:
- High commissions (disguised as spreads).
- No Last price. Just Bid and Ask.
- No central clearing house like the Emini futures have.
- Data is a mess. Do you look at your bank's data, or at composite data? Do you chart Bid or do you chart Ask, since there's no Last?
- Its price action isn't snappy like the Emini futures.
- It has nothing as useful as $TICK which we use extensively with the Eminis.
- Although it's claimed to be 24 hours, there are periods when the volume is low enough that you wouldn't want to trade.
- Several of my students tried it out and came back to the Eminis.
